Vienna’s Museum of Natural History (Naturhistorisches Museum) was founded in 1889 and is home to world famous and unique objects.

However the museum’s departments also house around 60 scientists carrying out fundamental research in a wide range of fields related to earth sciences, life sciences and human science, making it one of the largest non-university research centers in Austria.
