The origins of the Faculty for Interdisciplinary Research and Continuing Education (IFF)  go back to 1979. Nowadays it is one of four Faculties at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt.

The IFF aims to develop, investigate and evaluate innovative approaches in research, teaching and organization, and to address selected contemporary social issues with the design of appropriate research and learning processes.
